Morris emailed me today and I found her statement, "Always look at WHY you got cancer in the first place and make changes." very amazing. As I was just contemplating "changes" to make in my life this very morning!

I find that the old habits BEFORE cancer want to take hold and resurface in my life. Perhaps, it is because old habits were with me for many, many years...and the new habits that I formed during the cancer period were with me for only several months.

How about you? Have you considered this perspective - of WHY you got cancer in the first place? Did you make changes as a result? Did the changes stick?

noreply@blogger.com (Sandra J. She is sharing her beautiful poem, entitled: Chemo Day. Thanks Joanne! Feel free to share a poem about your experience with cancer too.

CHEMO DAY

Monitors beep. Nurses scurry. IV bags and rubber gloves. Needles and Noise. Warm blankets and quiet conversation.

This silent ritual set to the rhythm of my ipod and to the silence of my rambling thoughts, fears hope, confusion awe and wonder at it all.

Who was I before this? Was there ever a before? Or was before just a ramp up to now?
In some odd way I am more at peace, now, than at any other point in my life How can this be?

How can there be peace In the company of this unwelcome house guest?

Maybe the peace comes from finally realizing that all of this is in someone else’s hands, but how I handle it, what grace I bring to the table, is solely in mine.

When the fear crawls in, late at night and lingers at the corner of my soul, I know my task is, by the light of day to grab the broom And sweep out the fear Push out the doubts, toss the anger Out the door.

Sweep every day and clear the decks For positive thoughts laughter, joy and grace.

This new world of mine. Full of needles, wires and noise Is a gift given to me, to make me well, To teach me about myself, And to remind me constantly Of how fortunate I am To love and be loved.

Joanne Byrne February 2, 2009

noreply@blogger.com (Sandra J. The healing techniques of visualization, acupressure, massage, deep breathing meditation, calming meditation, and acupuncture made a huge difference in alleviating pain, in helping my mobility, and in giving me the strength to fight the fight.

There are many cancer people who could and should benefit from complementary healing techniques and for whatever reason can't afford and/or don't feel comfortable in seeking help.
Cancer not only brings emotional strains it also brings financial strains. The elimination of a paycheck or financial losses should be the least of priorities. Unfortunately, financial worries can override the more important focus of healing.

Often, the cancer patient does not have any energy, motivation, or ability to contact our organization. It is, therefore, important that the care-giver contact our foundation. If you are a care-giver we want to help. Please contact us.

This foundation is established to offer support and lift some of the financial burden so that a cancer patient can experience healing therapy comfort throughout his/her treatment.

noreply@blogger.com (Sandra J.
